Emergency and Poverty Relief Expertfinder [EPRE]

The project is launched to coincide with the Expertfinder Workshop to be held in Berlin 16 January 2007

The PositionPaper to be presented briefly with a PosterSession at the Workshop.

The task is huge, and work is already underway.

We invite individuals, organisations and communities who believe that the internet is a potentially unlimited resource, and would like to harness its potential to solve Nr 1 world problem and priority for humanity (poverty reduction/elimination and alleviation of suffering) to join this wiki and start working towards one of the following goals

- Help to devise and implement a semantic layer for humanitarian websites - Contribute to a poster for the presentation with your ideas and skills - Evaluate the suitability of FOAF against emergency and privacy requirements and/or devise a suitable modification - Think of a million ways that a simple <TAG> can be posted to websites and BLOGS to help find resources to help other people during emergencies and as part of ongoing poverty alleviation programmes, and start a page/discussion/implementation - Think of ways that the semantic web and web 2.0 can be used to leverage the power of Social Networks, fbookmarking, folksonomies, Peer 2 Peer networks and the lot to help solve social and humanitarian crises.
